Participation in labeling will be one of the licensing requirements for pharmacies

To date, according to statistical studies, most of the pharmacies and pharmaceutical organizations that dispense medicines and drugs are already connected and work with an information labeling system (IMS). According to information from Roszdravnadzor, functioning in the labeling system will become a mandatory licensing requirement for pharmacies and pharmaceutical organizations. This decision was announced at the nineteenth conference of the all-Russian scale – “Pharmaceutical Treatment 2019”.

In his speech, the head of Roszdravnadzor Mikhail Murashko noted that participation in the IMS and labeling of medicines will soon be included in a number of mandatory licensing requirements, the implementation of which will be checked by a special control body. Along with this, it was announced that the register of licenses will be superimposed on the register of pharmacies connected to the IMS, and if the organization is not in the labeling system or does not transmit data on the movement of medicines, it will be taken under special attention and carefully checked.

From 01.10.2019, labeling of drugs from the list of high-cost nosologies will begin, labeling of other medical products will become mandatory from 01.01.2020.

Many pharmacies are already moving towards labeling, but so far at an experimental level. The pilot project helps to accept changes in work processes more comfortably and efficiently, while the government actively meets the pharmaceutical organizations participating in the experiment.

Currently, pilot labeling projects are voluntary and cover a variety of product lines, for example, an experiment on labeling cameras was recently launched. In accordance with the legislation, along with medicines and cameras, by 2020, cigarettes, shoes, eau de toilette and perfumes, tires and some other goods of light industry will be labeled. Labeling will push the “gray” companies out of the market, providing competitive conditions for entrepreneurs, and guaranteeing the quality of goods for consumers.
